Heritage & Archives
The Heritage and Archives Fund now enables the College to be more than a mere passive recipient of generosity. It is now possible for the College to collect actively and with purpose. The collections will grow coherently, and will better be able to illustrate the long and often epic story of surgeons and surgery. In this way you will be helping to support the College of Surgeons Museum, which is not only a magnificent resource for Fellows, Trainees and the medical profession, but is also a vital and essential means for the College to interact with the wider community.
The Heritage and Archives Fund also supports the ongoing preservation of the College’s collections, be they documents, works of art, historic surgical instruments or rare books. Preservation and conservation is important work, ensuring that the College’s assets will continue to survive for the benefit of future generations of Fellows and Trainees.
Foundation for Surgery
The Foundation for Surgery is striving for a world where children, families and communities can access quality surgical care when they need it most. To do this, we need your help.
We are committed to making every dollar count. 100% of every donation assists in addressing critical surgical need and achieves its maximum impact in the community.
Indigenous Health
The health status of Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Maori people is poor in comparison to the rest of the population. The Foundation for Surgery is working to address this by increasing the number of indigenous surgeons in Australia and New Zealand and improving understanding of culturally appropriate treatment through education and advocacy.
Research and Scholarships
The health and well-being of future generations depend on the research we do now. Foundation for Surgery Research scholarships and grants forge higher levels of excellence by ensuring surgical practice is based on the best evidence and the most up-to-date knowledge. Allowing all people to have access to enhanced levels of quality patient care when they need it most.
